Here’s how you can be involved:

The Washington Wetlands Network (Wetnet) is currently working on these projects:

  • Department of Ecology Pilot Mitigation Banking Rule legislation
  • Dept. of Ecology Western Washington wetland rating system
  • Dept. of Ecology Model Wetlands Ordinance
  • Community Trade and Economic Development Best Available Science
  • Washington Dept. of Transportation’s Transportation Permitting Efficiency and Accountability Committee (TPAC) participation
  • Environmental Protection Agency/Army Corps isolated wetlands issue

 

1. Save One Wetland with a one-time action
Time Action
2 hours Review one wetland document
½ to 3 hours Testify at one public meeting
3 to 6 hours Represent Wetnet at a wetland workshop


2. Influence Decision-Makers
Time Action
2 hours every 3 months Wetnet Committee meets quarterly, 2nd Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 pm
3 hours every 4 months Disappearing Task Force on county Critical Area Ordinances
6 hours per month Represent Wetnet on a State rulemaking committee


3. Change public policy

4 hours every 3 months Help draft comments to EPA and Army Corps
